because they saw His miracles John 6:2
When my younger brother was in seventh grade he walked into the shed to change a file tip. He mistakenly pointed the sharp tip towards him and pulled with all his might. The tip released and struck him dead center in his eye. This began an event that would change his life forever.
Rather than wait for an ambulance my mother threw us in the car and started a white knuckle ride for the hospital an hour away. When we caught up with my father he continued the journey by running stop lights and screaming like a mad man behind the wheel.
The doctors took one look and prepped my brother for surgery. And this became his claim to fame as he became one of the first patients ever to have stitches in his eye. I knew I was on the edge of a miracle as I watched these miraculous events unfold.
As Christians, everyday, we are on the edge of a miracle. God longs for us to be a part of the miracle of redemption. One word of truth softly planted on some ones heart may be just what is divinely called for.
One song of joy sung to a lonely passing stranger, one caring touch to someone overwhelmed with struggle. One voice, one song, one touch and one heart brings our useless life to the edge of a miracle and paints the picture of what God can do.
Imagine what the world would be like if rather than looking for our needs, our wants and our desires we looked through spiritual eyes. Oh Christian, won't you see the one that is ready to surrender. Can you see the one that is ready to free fall right into Daddy's arms. Will you become a part of the miracle of redemption?
Father,
I want to be used
In the cause for Christ.
To spend my time
Planting seeds to change a life.
This miracle of redemption
happens everyday.
I want to be a part
Of bringing Your Sons rays.
So please just opem my eyes
And help my heart to see
The stranger that is lost
Is sitting next to me.
