What Do You Hear?

Eternal encouragement 2 Thessalonians 2:16

When I was going to college I lived in the heart of the city because the rent was much less. Not two blocks away was the fire department. Often I would be awakened by the blazing sirens of the fire trucks as they roared by. At the time I grew to hate that sound because I would relate it to the tragedy on the other end.

It seems that the sound of sirens blasting never brings pleasant thoughts. We never can relate it to joy or laughter. It always comes with tragedy. Or does it?

Behind every tragedy lies the opportunity for God to conduct a miracle. The reality is that tragedy can instantly turn to rejoicing when we sing the glory of His name. The weak CAN become strong because God gave the dying man breath.

The mind of a man that is lost says, " God is not in this tragedy." While the mind of the saint thinks, " My God IS in this tragedy." Simply because our Savior lives hear His eternal encouragement and believe our God can do anything.

As you read these words
Are your sirens blaring.
Do you walk in a daze
Constantly staring?

Has your joy turned silent
And do tears reign down?
Have you forgotten His glory
And that He still wears a crown?

Eternal encouragement
Is what He wants to bring.
Now reflect the joy
And continue to sing.
