Abraham staggered at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully persuaded that what he had promised, he was able to perform. Rom. 4:20,21
The first time I built my house I moved my family in and then got the shock of my life. I walked into the local bank to convert my construction loan to permanent financing and the banker told me I needed another twenty thousand dollars. Back in the early nineties that was a lot of money and more than I could round up.
When I asked the banker how this could happen he said, " I got so busy I never looked at your file." My first reaction was to crawl over his desk and throttle him. But instead I leaned back in my chair and said, " I don't know why this is happening but God does and that is good enough for me."
The next three months I scrambled around until I met a man that was able to put the financial package together to save my house. This tragedy became the gateway into not just doubling my income but tripling it.
Christian does God have you in the midst of what appears to be bad news right now? Is He asking you to change, do something altogether different or uncomfortable? What seemed to be the worst of my life turned out to be the best for me. I was called on to learn more skills and was given an opportunity to create a better life for my family.
God has His reasons to drag us through the storms of life. His ways are not our ways but some day with faith in a Father that can do no wrong it will all make sense.
Father,
What seemed to be the worst of times
Have turned to be the best.
So I will walk with Holy confidence
When You put me through the test.
Blessed assurance is the song I will sing
When You put me through the fire.
With a hope in my heart
And a faith at my feet
That I will reach for what You desire.
