Whether you turn to the right or turn to the left your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, " This is the way; walk in it. Isaiah 30:21
I was wanting to get some quiet time before I got out the door and I caught myself saying, " O.K. Lord we have twenty minutes before I want to leave." Have you ever done that? Have you ever tried to put God on a time table.
I immediately stopped what I was doing and ran to my prayer closet. How foolish of me. How ridiculous to try and put God on a time table or schedule. We can't put God on a schedule. He operates on His own perfect timing.
We can not think" Oh I shot up a quick prayer why is God not answering me?" Real quality quiet times means we evacuate ourselves. We must empty ourselves of all concerns of this world. It is impossible to meet Christ in the heavenlies until we forget that time exists.
Once we allow ourselves to get lost in His presence His soothing hand appears upon our shoulder. All wounds pressed upon you by this ugly world will be closed with His healing touch. The sweetness of life will come rolling back into your restless heart and peace will come once more.
Father,
How foolish of me
To try to demand
Answers from You
As if I command.
Lord,
How I long to know You
To hear Your voice,
To feel Your presence
So I can make the Kingdom choice.
Lord,
Just slow me down
And erase my cares.
All that I want
Is to know You are there.
