What Can I Say To You Today?

Sometimes I think it must be very difficult to be a pastor. I am sure they must think that the flock has heard all of their words before. They must wonder if there will ever be a change. They must wonder what they can say to a seasoned Christian veteran that wears the arm band of Jesus Christ. I mean by now, very little of what someone says to us is really going to change us right?

I really hope that is not how you think? This pious Pharisee attitude is one step away from the fall. The Pharisees were filled with an outward righteousness and missed the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Their self pride perverted the scriptures and blinded them to spiritual things.

I, for one, want to be stripped down to nothing. I want to hear the still small voice of the Holy Spirit. I want to walk in His glory and not mine. The importance of daily prayer never changes. The value of using our gift never fades. The wisdom of quiet time never disappears. Being washed and moved to tears is never an evidence of weakness. It is Christ in you reaching in to do what He wants to do.

In reality their is nothing that mere man can say to you. But when we attune our ear towards heaven and can say, " I strolled with God today and it was the very best part of my day you will then know the value of knowing God and growing God in your life.

Father,

It is the fool that would ever say
I know all I need to know.
I am done with all this learning.
I don't need to grow.

Lord, send Your Holy Spirit
To show me what I need to know.
It is only when You invade me
That I can turn around
And let it show.
