bear witness unto the truth John 18:37
When my Ex-wife and I went back to her native home I sat in a room full of her relatives and could not understand a word being spoken. Although they were speaking in their native tongue I was lost.
Sometimes when it comes to witnessing to others we are just as lost. We convince ourselves that we don't know the exact scripture so we are silent. We foolishly fall prey to the lack of biblical knowledge on a subject so we avoid and shrink away.
We fail to remember that God has promised a helper, the Holy Spirit. We are specifically instructed to not be anxious beforehand what you are to say; but say what ever is given you of that hour, for it is not you who speak but the Holy Spirit. Mark 13:11
I find great comfort in those words. Indeed if we try to be a witness under our own power failure is sure to come for they see thee and not He. But if we step aside and let God be God then kingdom events will happen.
To the darkest world let us radiate His light. From the deepest pit let us proclaim , "we can crawl out." To the lost that can be found by Christ and Christ alone let us proclaim, declare and demand that Jesus is the one.
Father,
There are times etched in my memory
That I tried to speak the words,
But the only thing that came falling out
Were foolishness that sounded so absurd.
But now I understand
I do not walk alone,
All I must do is rely on You
And my words won't sound like groans.
