You Can Barely See It

Giveth heed to false lips. Prov. 17:4

I was pulling on a sweatshirt the other day and I glanced down and saw a slight mark on it. You could barely see it. Sooner or later enough marks and the garment becomes useless.

Multitudes of unconfessed sin make our witness useless. Like the car that needs an overhaul unconfessed sin can cause a spiritual breakdown.

One sin that comes to mind is manipulation. You can not see it with the naked eye. It is an action that happens over time. Those with addictive behavior seem to exercise it the most. Caught in this whirlpool of manipulation it sucks them down.

Rather than being sensitive to manipulation we fold up our tent, pull up our tent pegs and move one step away from Christ. And the enemy rejoices when we manipulate another. This behavior blocks our heavenly Father from leading and it stops us from listening to the Holy Spirit. Manipulation is man taking control rather than letting God lead.

If these words are speaking to you then it is time for a spiritual overhaul. Bring it to the Lord at once. Continue until the Lord breaks you of this habit because even though you can barely see it God does and it grieves the Holy Spirit.

Father,

I confess my desire to control
To always want to win.
I see now with my spiritual eyes
That You have labeled this sin.

Destroy my desire to manipulate.
Come now and take control.
I hunger for sincerity
And a pure heart is now my goal.
