The Pathway To Social Acceptance

I have accepted thee Gen 19:21

Last week I was thinking of the first neighborhood my children were exposed to growing up. A picture came to mind of the children gathered in the driveways riding their Hot Wheeler trikes. At that age there was so much innocence and joy. It was fun to watch them gather together to OHHH and AAAAH over the latest and greatest toy. Those toys became there pathway to social acceptance.

In older age this pathway to social acceptance became teenage drinking. Refuse it and you are ostercized. Accept it and you stand at the gates of trouble.

At some point we stand at another gate. This gate has nothing to do with being accepted by our peers. There is no social pressure to conform. The voice you here is not the voice of a friend. It is God's voice calling you.

Like the surf that stalks the shore He has left His mark in your life. From the very beginning of time and from the very first breath you have drawn He has left His imprint on your heart.

All rebellion comes from the seed of denial. Denial that He is the King and we are here to serve. Denial that He is in control and holds the key to all aspects of our lives. Stand in acceptance of these spiritual truths and our life takes on a new meaning. His purpose becomes our passion and He becomes the center of all that we do.

Father,

You have become my passion
The reason for my song.
My ears have become attuned to You
As You ask me to come along.

Come along to a life full of reason.
Come along and worship the King.
Surrender my earthly possessions
And watch all the joy He will bring.
