Never be lazy in your work Romans 12:1
I was talking with my teenager the other day and of course the topic was grades. His comment was that he could care less about school which is obvious to me. We have covered the numbers and I have shown him the difference between a college education and not attaining one.
I believe the real problem is lack of motivation. I have to ask myself if I am like that in my spiritual goals. Am I dedicated to reading the word, living the word and doing what I know I should do? Have I even written down my spiritual goals so I can take them to prayer?
I remember when I first started selling insurance I went to my manager at the resteraunt where I was working and I told him what I was going to do. His words stung as he said, " I will give you six months and you will sell your friends and your family and then you will be back here." Now that was motivation because I wanted to prove him wrong.
The bible reveals Gods attitude with work when it tells us that lazyness leads to poverty. We are admonished to make the most of our time. God uses examples of the smallest of insects like the ant to get the most accomplished for his size.
Wise people hang a sign on their head that says " Let's begin. Let's do it now. Let's get going. God inspired ideas begin with a seed, a thought and an idea. They are wrapped in a passion that carries us through the toughest of times and end with a statement that we are working for the Kingdom.
The Masters
To be a master in your trade
Is more than just mere words.
It's more than one just simple deed.
It borderlines absurd.
It's working with a passion
As you strive to be the best.
Pushing to the limit,
To be better than the rest.
And yes it's often said,
"Mere words can not explain
The exhilerating high
That comes after all the pain."
So paint yourself a picture,
Believing your the best.
Strive to be a master
Accept the ultimate test.
