Woe is me for I am a man undone. Isaiah 6:5
I never used to be like this. I could go days without praying. Or I could go weeks without even coming close to hearing the whisper of the Holy Spirit. And yes, I was involved with repetitive sin and still called myself a Chritian and thought nothing of it. I was dead in my transgression and the Holy Spirit came upon me. My soul awakened and correction became a friend and not a foe. Then something happened.
Conviction became a daily diet upon my table. God came to me revealing all of my ugliness and asked me to change. And when He is come He will convict the world of sin. It was when I moved into the presence of God that conviction spoke with a clear voice and I broke down. God doesn't have to force it. He doesn't have to come with a 2by4. He comes with a loving heart and a quiet spirit. Yielding to Christ at that very moment created memories that I cherish.
When He comes He calls. Listen with all your heart. Yeild at that very moment. Father has great plans for you and you alone.
Father,
It's called conviction
When You point out my sin.
And You always come
With a gentle touch
And tell me
To try again.
And you say,
"This time will be different
For I will walk with you.
And the next time
You are faced with that sin
I will carry you through."
Oh Lord, my love, my Savior
I stand now just amazed.
And I will ever praise You
Until my very last days.
