The Lord build the house Psalm 127:1
If you have ever been on a construction site you would know the harshness of the building crew. Rough language, short tempers and abrasive music is usually the norm. When the temple walls were going up for Solomon's temple all materials were prepared far away from the site. Not one pounding hammer or the chipping of iron on stone was heard at the site. All of the pieces were prepared far from destination yet each piece was calculated to fit precisely and perfectly together.
Just as Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us we cannot arrive until we have been prepared. So the master carpenter stands ready to chip away our imperfection. He must cut away our pride, hammer out our stubbornness, sand away the rough edges of our heart. He must fire up the inferno and melt away our insensitivity allowing a caring heart to flow like a river.
Heaven's gates await us when we allow Him to reign. With God in control we are not rendered helpless and nothing can be hopeless. It takes complete cooperation to build something of significance. Let God construct His presence in you.
Father,
Bring your hammer
And chisel too.
Do what ever You have to do.
Build my house
With Your own hands.
I only wish to be a better man.
Destroy the ugly
And the empty in me.
Reflect Your love
For others to see.
