then the two told what had happened on the way Luke 24:35
I once knew a man whose job was to deliver the news of death. He was a military man and his assignment was to tell the family how death came to their loved one. This man was the picture of compassion and had a gentle caring spirit. I am sure he saw enough tears and heard enough wailing to last him a lifetime.
There is another lesson this man could have deliver. In fact it is a message we all should be delivering. Wrapped in every circumstance of life is the message of Jesus Christ.
We all have the opportunity to deliver this message. So I have to ask why don't we? Knowing what we know and knowing how much He has changed our life why do we walk on by? I have to remind myself that there are people heading to hell unless I am willing to face a little rejection.
Could it be that the enemy has convinced us that we don't know the scriptures enough? Could it be that satans message is we are not worthy? How quickly we forget the cross. How easily we have lost sight of the empty tomb.
We are all foot soldiers of Jesus Christ. There is joy that awaits when we speak the good news. Angels rejoice when they hear the voice of a sinner that is now a saint.
When a child learns to walk he forever has his fathers hand behind him. Our Fathers hand is always with us. His voice is always breathing a song of encouragement. The message is still the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Jesus lives.
Father,
I am guilty of distraction
Caught up in selfish plans.
Captured by worldly enticements
I stopped doing all I can.
But I want to be a good foot soldier
In the army of Jesus Christ.
A committed dedicated witness
Of how Christ has changed my life.
