What Captures You?

For man goes to his eternal home Eccl. 12:5

Being that I have been licensed to sell houses for many years now I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly. I have seen the fading dilapidated foundations. At times I have seen the flooring listing to the left or the left behind mess of a disgruntled home owner.

No matter how well the house is built sooner or later it will all go to ruin. Sooner or later everything that we can possibly imagine will all fade away. Not one thing that man has ever created, bought or built will last into eternity.

That is what captures me so much about our future home in heaven. We will have an everlasting, never ending relationship with Father. I thought about that today and was washed in tears. God has promised that sometime in the future we will be able to have a relationship with Him and spend time with Him that will never end.

There is nothing we have to do to earn it. It was a gift inherited once we chose to believe. There is nothing we can do to loose it once we chose to believe. This captures my heart and makes me fall in love all over again and again and again with my Daddy.

Father,
Today your promise struck deeply
And I finally comprehend
That I am going to live with You
In a world that will never end.

My heart is over flowing
With a promise just such as this.
I will wait for the day,
You will take me away,
And I'll be able to give You a kiss.
