There Are Days That I Am Tested

Examine yourselves whether you are in the faith. 2 Cor 13;5

Years ago when I was selling a house the numbers were not coming up in my favor. The word got out that I was going through divorce and everyone low balled the numbers. I took the highest offer but threee days before closing I was still $13,000 short.

A friend of mine asked me what I was going to do. My answer was short and sweet. I said," I don"t know what I am going to do but God does and that is good enough for me." My friend looked sounded shocked and I could sense it over the phone.

A day before closing I recieved a call out of the blue and they said, " We have heard about your situation and we have a check over here with your name on it for $ 10,000. " The amazing thing is I never asked for their help. I cried like a baby and felt God's hand of deliverence.

It is one thing to say that we believe, but then we can't be grovelling in the corner on the edge of dispair. It is one thing to be down to our last pennies.,but then we must believe with all our heart that God will deliver. That is real faith. That is what it looks like.

Everyday in some way we are tested. God may choose to test us in our obedience. For those that have identified their spiritual gift it might be a battle of wills to serve the cross rather then self. We can be tested to see if we will stand up to Satan and his claims. And last we can be tested to allow us to destroy idolatries.

Every time I try to do this under my own strength I will fail. But in asking, waiting and watching for God to deliver than all glory goes to Him. When we operate like this our spiritual muscles will grow. Let the cross convince you day by day that God is who He says He is. We must maintain at all times Faith in the cross, hope for a better day and trust that God is never a day late.

Father,

There are days that I am tested
And it seems beyond belief.
But deep down in my heart
I know You'll bring relief.

When the world says I'm a fool
To stand upon the rock,
May I be strong enough to walk away
And let them stand and mock.
