shall the dry praise thee? Psalm 30:9
I am going to make an assumption and state that we have all been there in regards to our spiritual walk. In fact, I hasten to say that over 50% of the church is there right now. Due to demands on our time from our job, our family or our church duties, we become dried up prunes. This is an entrapment that the enemy uses to render us useless.
To break these chains of entanglement we might have to take drastic steps to re-capture moments with Christ. Last year at this time I worked for somebody else for the first time in thirty three years. I was not free to use my time or my talents for the throne. So I began to ask God to reveal a better place where I would have the freedom to write at any given moment when the Spirit was striking.
On any given day you may now find me tucked downstairs in the conference room with my Bible, my notebook and my concordance. I told the owner and he was perfectly fine with what my desires are to capture those moments.
Most people are caught up in the chase. They chase a better paycheck to buy a bigger house that demands more time away from their family and from God. They spend money they don't have to buy things they don't need to impress people they barely know.
So let me ask you this? Have you ever thought about a demotion? Have you ever thought about down sizing so you can up size your priorities to Christ? Why not up size your time with your family? Why not get out of crisis mode and into Christ mode?
This is dangerous Christianity for when we lack the time to reach for a deeper understanding of Christ it affects every aspect of our life.
Father,
I know I've been too busy.
And none of my priorities made sense.
I 've lacked the time to dwell
And drink in Your presence.
I declare with all my heart
There are changes to be made.
So I can complete the work of the cross
And follow the plans You have laid.
