the fire must be kept burning...it must not go out. Leviticus 6:13
One of the pleasures I have is coming home to a relaxing hot tub. When I built the home I went to great pains to get a jacuzzi that would allow me to use aroma therapy oils without clogging the jets. I find this to be an exercise in relaxation. It becomes a soothing ritual that washes away the scales of the day. Make that hot tub luke warm and it leaves an anxious wanting soul.
So it is with our Christian walk. Embrace the cross with a deep desire and hear the whispers of the Holy Spirit. Complete immersions into the wantings of Christ and you receive a satisfaction to your hunger.
I am the first to say that in my rebellious past I have had a wondering heart. Wander too long and too far and you can label it backsliding. At that very moment we are then a dried up seed unable to produce. But glory be to God that He never forsakes and always forgets.
Are there things child of God you need to lay before the alter? Has your wandering heart derailed your relationship with Father? Then wipe the slate clean and start over because our Father is waiting for you.
The plans He made have not disappeared. The purpose He had still exists. Do not be afraid of the furnace for what comes after is a masterpiece forged by the very hand of God.
All silliness aside, when was the last time your heart reached out to Christ and your hand reached up to heaven? If the fire of desire burns dimly it can be ignited. Make the flicker of flame like wild fire that burns out of control.
If your desire is lukewarm and if your heart is lukewarm you will fail to taste the feast of our Father. Come dine with me. The morning star awaits, come home.
The morning star awaits, come home.
You will kiss the face of the Father
And you will never be alone.
Forget the seeds of destruction
You have sown in times past.
His love is everlasting
And by grace it will last.
He wants to hear you
Cry out to Him.
As far as the East is from the West
He will always say, " What sin."
Stoke up the fires furnace
And make your heart ablaze.
Come home to our sweet Jesus
And you will always be amazed.
Let the trumpets call you home.
Let the voice of heaven shout.
Be bold in your declaring
That God is all about.
Oh please come home.
