thou hunt my soul 1st Sam. 24:11
A friend of mine told me about her son who ended up in jail after a night on the town drinking. As an underage teen he was hauled to jail and sat there all weekend. After spending the weekend in jail with some pretty rough characters and sleeping with one eye open he was desperate to get out.
By Sunday the tears of redemption were flowing and his tough bravado exterior had caved in. As he laid in bed in the dark empty cell God got his attention. Prisoners are allowed one hour of music a day and his had been used up. Yet, deep into the night he found there was music from a Christian radio station some how appearing on the head phones.
The next morning when he went to thank the guard for the music they said they didn't give him any more privileges and they didn't program any more music for him.
There are wonders in this world that are far above us that are clothed in the majestic works of our Lord. Could it be that God reached through the darkness to call him? When God calls us there is nothing that can keep Him out. The walls of prison are not thick enough, high enough or strong enough to keep Him out because God's power will always break through.
When He wants us for a specific Kingdom event what He opens no one can close. God does not work by circumstance or coincidence. He operates on a Divine agenda.
May this young man surrender his will into God's outstretched hands. May his callous bravado fade away like scales on a healing wound and may he seek the soothing touch of a risen Savior.
Father,
In our stupidity we reject You.
Like a mad man we know not what we do.
But You Lord are relentless
As Your love knows no end.
All because You loved us first
And want to call us friend.
