Destitute For Christ

filleth the hungry soul Psalm 107:9

I have declared Christ as my Savior twice in my life. The first time as I hung that banner over my head I did things that were unexplainable, unacceptable and undeniable. I believe this to be an external knowledge of Christ. In other vernacular you could say my heart was not in it. I was born again but not born of Christ.

The second time I received the Holy Ghost. It was not at some large assembly. I was not at a church gathering where everybody was all fired up. I was at home, alone and face to face with God. Conviction came with a silver platter of forgiveness.

It was then that I became destitute for Christ. It came with a desire to be broken as I was determined to follow with a willing heart. I had finally come to the end of myself. Now I was sold out for Christ.

Oswald Chambers became my best friend. His book " My Utmost For Your Highest" deepened my commitment. I read it three times in a matter of months. Chambers puts things in perspective when he writes" Transfer the control of your life over to God. Become weak in your spirit to become strong in His. Decide in advance to be dependant upon His ways so that God can manifest His power in you. Do this and your road will be named liberty."

It is not a die to Christ that I have experienced. It is a deep understanding of living to sacrifice and surrender. Once completed this sacrifice obliterates my self will so I can be fully used for Christ.

Invade me Lord
That is all I ask.
Prepare me Lord
Just for Your task.

Convict me Lord
With scars upon Your hands.
Destroy me Lord
So I can follow Your commands.
Invade me Lord.
