I Will Not Restrain My Lips

Behold I will not restrain my lips Psalm 40:9

As a recruiter for a large insurance company it was commonplace for me to  have new recruits ride with me on appointments. One time I remember changing the Christian radio station so I would not be labeled. Have you ever done anything like that? Even though it is an event that happened twenty five years ago God brought that to mind to teach me to stand strong and be bold in my faith.

Now I understand that every chance to reveal Christ must be acted on. Our responsibility is to have a heart for the unsaved. If we are to be His hands and feet then around every corner is a chance to plant seeds. We are the messenger and we might be the only chance they have that day to see Christ.


The root word for priest is bridge builder. We are meant to help others cross over to Christ. As I get older and closer to the cross I find I am much bolder in my witness to others. Let's not restrain our lips any longer. Let's choose to be a bridge builder.

As I get much older
And closer to the cross
I'll step out in boldness
And count it but loss.

We know He is the answer
We simply must obey,
For only God can change the heart
He knows just what to say.

Let's reach out and plant the seed
That might be the one,
That takes the un-believing heart
To the Savior, the Son.
