Let There be Light

why is light given to a man? Job 3:23

When I began to write this daily devotional God was very specific. It was exactly at 4:18 every morning that He would wake me up. It was always so dark outside. When I would turn my bedroom light on it would bounce off the walls. When I turned the outside light on it would travel to the edge of darkness.

What I discovered was that our Fathers light was beyond the eye. His light illuminated my heart and cut the darkness of despair. His light called to the unsaved and lifted up my voice to Heaven.

He was creating in me a current that wanted to reach out to those that did not know Him. Now, everything I did and everything I said needed to reflect Christ.

So I must ask, are you being an attraction or a distraction for the Kingdom? Are your new friends and acquaintances seeing His light in you? Are we pointing people to the cross or pulling them away?

Are we inviting them to church to be spiritually fed or are we inviting them to lunch so we won't be lonely? God used many different people to bring me to the cross. Is He trying to use you today?

Light is that which makes vision possible. As Christians we are called forerunners, examples of transformed people. Let us live it, love it and show it for all the world to see.

There is someone out there
and let it be today
that I might meet them and show them the way.

There is someone out there
and let it come to pass
that God would use me
to show an eternity that will last.

Yes, there is someone out there
and they all need Christ.
Use me Lord,
Illuminate my life.
