The World, The Flesh and The Devil

Some time back I was talking with a friend and as we talked I could tell she was in the midst of spiritual warfare. I could tell it in her voice and I could tell it in her words. It was evident to me that Satan was putting down road blocks and I called it out.

When I told her that Satan was trying to stop her from using her spiritual gifts she agreed. Then she confessed by saying, " I was not going to talk to anybody tonight. I was just going to wallow in my self pity."

We confessed her struggles and by the end of our conversation she was laughing up a storm. That night I thanked God that I could be used to fight the enemy. It is apparent to me that Satan wants us to wallow. He wants us to forget we are a child of the King. He wants us to be so busy we don't stay in contact with others. He wants us to be disconnected.

Our enemies are the world, the flesh, and the devil. These are described as being invisible foes. We concur them by God's word as it becomes our armor. The word strengthens our faith and reminds us of God's promises.

Through the word we can and will avoid worldly entanglements. It is our weapon to endure the hardness of the days. It gives us self-control, makes us alert and in calling out His name we will have victory over the enemy.

How do we fight the enemy?
How do we fight the fight?
How do we make the right choice?
How do we walk in the light?

The answer is boldly declaring
And speaking in Jesus name
That we are aware of Satan
And we won't fall prey
To his game.

So let us not forget
We are a child of the King.
He asked we bring the big and the small
And yes that means everything.
