Saved us by the washing of regeneration Titus 3:5
Have you ever had someone blame you for something you already brought before the Lord? Like an outboard motor placed in muddy water, nothing but dirt is churned up. They want you to live in the past. The conversation is filled with " You did this and you did that."
When they bring up our past sins they land their feet in Satan's camp. Satan loves to stir up conflict and bring up wrongs committed. They want us to believe that things can't be made right and God will never forgive.
But, what we in our limited humanness must remember, is if there is evidence of fruit then God has already accomplished the process of regeneration. If there is genuine repentance then God has restored all things.
It is not for us to judge. It is up to us to scrutinize their actions and place a wreath of hope around their neck. God's love and our love does not bind the person up but set's him free.
Don't participate in the blame game. Don't tear the person down but build the person up. Let God be God and deal with cleansing the person from the inside out. Demonstrate love and not hate.
It does no good to relive the past. It does no good to recount their sins. We can be a blessing by refreshing, renewing and restoring their faith and taking all of their mistakes and placing them in the capable hands of Jesus Christ. He is well equipped to complete the process of regeneration.
Only God can do it. No amount of pounding on a persons outer shell is going to effectively change a person's moral and spiritual nature. Demonstrate love and not hate and you will earn a crown in Heaven.
I will demonstrate love
when someone has hurt me.
I will take it to the Lord
and pray insistently.
My greatest desire of all my heart
is to be made in the image of Christ.
So I will drop down on my knee's
and pray for the rest of my life.
