Submit to God Job 22:21 One of my all time favorite movies is Ghost. I like it because of the relationship between Patrick Swayzee and his wife Demi Moore. They are such soul mates and when he dies they still long for each other. There is a scene that really exemplifies that. He has come back and just wants to be with his wife in an intimate way. He allows Whoopi Goldbergs character to completely take over his body in a surrendering way so he can dwell with his wife one last time. In a sense that is what it is like to surrender to Christ. In a sense it is a emptying out of self and completely giving over our self will to Christ. Any way you present the word surrender it has a defeatist attitude to me. But once we understand the full character of God then we are submitting to a power much greater then I will ever be. When we bow down Christ is raised up. When God breaks us to remake us then only good will follow . When His hand is the only hand that we search for in the darkness then glorious Kingdom results occur. Then the challenge becomes to believe, accept it and to live it. Oh Lord, beat down my flesh. Please do this for me. I'm trying to lead again. Come Lord, set me free. I'll submit to you each moment of the day. Silently confessing every minute that I pray. Lord reach me, Lord teach me, Lord I surrender all. Every time that I rise up just catch me when I fall.
