the battle is not yours but God's. 2Chr. 15:20 One of the things that held me out of church for many years was my conception of church. All that I remember from my childhood days were the watered down messages that I heard when I was younger. I don't recall one message that ever challenged me from the inside out to raise up and be a Christ centered man. The first time I stepped back into a church was when my fiance had fallen in the arms of another man. My life was filled with calamity. The pastor was a gifted teacher from Dallas Seminary. The first message was about Jehoshaphat and to this day I still remember the words, " The battle is mine sayeth the Lord." I pictured a banner hanging over my front door with those words. What a comfort to melt into His loving, caring arms as soon as I arrived home. What a treasure to know we don't have to have all the answers to our battles because He does. Bringing comfort that only Christ can deliver He comes to the afflicted. He reaches out to the sorrowful and He brings strength to our weak, discouraged, troubled hearts. Hold me Father hold me send me all Your love. So I might know the Lord our God who is sitting high above. Only from the Father could that love exist. So wrap Your arms around me Lord and seal it with a kiss. Hold me Father hold me when I am afraid. Remind me You have plans for me the foundation has been laid. When I start to wonder and I start to doubt set my feet on solid ground and turn my cries to shouts. Hold me Father hold me when I get confused let me hear Your laughter so I might be amused. Remind me that my Father will always hear my prayer no matter what I fall into somehow You're always there. |
