Mine eyes a fountain of tears.Jer. 9:1
I am starting to realize that tears are a language all their own. They come with a familiar voice that can soothe the soul and wash yesterdays failures away. Meant to clean the eyes I believe they also clean the heart . They are evident when we are experiencing great remorse. We are told they flow like a fountain and if you have ever experienced that you know the anguish. When we are approaching death or under great oppression it is hard to hold back these tears.
Lately for me they come when I am silently listening to the Spirit or standing in church singing a song that absolutely grips me. Never one to shy away from these experiences I just let the rivers flow.
It happened again this week. I was dealing with one of my elderly clients and come to find out he has cancer. Now I knew about the stroke that he was battling back from but cancer on top of a stroke?
It does not happen too often when I am silent but that got to me. Then I asked the Lord what next? What, if anything, can I do? I was convinced that God wanted me to send him a message to let him know I was praying. So I called him back and had a great time talking to his wife.
Life sometimes sends some hard knocks. Things that don't seem fair. Questions unanswered until we are given the opportunity to ask God in person. But the message behind the questions is not to loose hope. Never question God's decisions and always believe that God is in control.
Today my Father blessed me
with some tears because of you.
I felt the pain and sensed the weight
of the things you're going through.
We had a conversation
as I took all things to prayer.
He assured me in His special way
that He certainly was there.
And then He said in a quiet voice
to come and tell you friend.
Fear not for God is with you
and He will be til the end.
