I will walk in mine integretyPs 26:11
My manager was all excited one year when he put together a contest for a fly-in fishing trip. I could care less if I won the thing but because it was so important to him I did what I had to do to qualifiy. I knew this was going to be some serious fishing as these guys go day and night.
I decided I was going to hang back in the cabin and skip the night fishing. I packed my suit case and then I packed my phone books. I thought I could make this a working vacation and look up phone numbers to have a long hot list of prospects to call when I got back.
My manager thought I was crazy but I didn't care. Since we were taking a float plane it all came down to weight. And my phone books had to go.
The very first morning my manager came in my cabin at six A.M. for an early morning rise and shine. As he panned the room with his video camera I decided I would teach him a lesson. So I dropped my drawers and mooned him. All in good fun with a bunch of crazy guys in a cabin I thought.
A month later we were at my managers house for a company picnic. As we walked in we headed for the back deck. To his suggestion he mentioned to my wife that she should go watch the video of the fishing trip. As my wife wandered into a room full of people I started to chat on the deck.
Within minutes I heard the loudest shrieking call of my voice that I had ever heard as my bare moon was plastered on his T.V. screen. I had forgotten all about it but apparently he never will.
I relate that story to emphazise the importance of our reputation. Sometimes innocent actions can destroy anything we have built for the kingdom. It was all in good fun yet children's eyes were watching that day. I now realize that my actions reflect my integrity. If we are to walk among giants and run with saints we cannot do questionable things.
I am one of the most freed up Christians you are ever going to meet. But within that freedom we have to realize that the non-Christian is watching. They are often waiting for us to fall so they can use it as a crutch so they don't have to face their own mortality.
I want my message to be of moral uprightness,( Gen 20:3-10), unselfish service( Numbers15:16) and honest behavior(2 Cor.7:2) So remember don't drop your drawers or you are liable to get burned.
Father,
sometimes in my rebellion
I fail to reflect you.
My selfish ways
and crazy days
are all that I want to do.
Please just help me realize
the line between wrong and right.
And then the things that I am doing
will always reflect Your light.
