Our soul waits for the Lord Psalm 33:20
A friend of mine sent me an e-mail the other day and she indicated how much the word patience has become a friend of hers. Willing to submit to the leading of the Lords hand she has surrendered to that word wait.
She is a gifted artist and her craft has taught her a valuable life lesson. Interpreting a subject she must spend hours contemplating each stroke of the brush. Any rushing through on her part will destroy the image and blur the results.
So how do we slow our minds ,surrender our will and allow God to take over? Waiting is a matter of the soul. We are to wait with quietness, patience and courage. We are to do this all day, with great hope and it is even accompanied with tears.
We are not to be ashamed, it is a journey of spiritual renewal and we will receive unusual blessings.
We live an an instant society. We are accustomed to bigger, better and faster. Waiting on the Lord is becoming a lost art. But like the artist that waits for a masterpiece to develop stroke by stroke we must capture the art of waiting. Then, what ever we accomplish has His hand prints signed on the canvas of our lives.
Father,
there are so many lessons
that You want me to learn.
And one of them is waiting.
Silently sitting at your feet
and simply anticipating.
Teach me the lesson of patience
and to simply understand.
That world can bring me
nothing of value
until the movement of Your hand.
