I am weary with my crying;
My throat is dry;
My eyes fail while I wait for my God. Psalm 69:3
Years ago I had a friend that was the caretaker for one of the wealthiest men of the country. I had the good fortune of getting to visit Him in his surroundings. As he gave me a tour I remember the giddiness of being in the presence of grandeur. The rich history of each room just echoed off the walls.
As Christians there are those times when God has us in waiting. Like a helicopter searching for a landing pad we hover. Major decisions must wait upon the Lord. Our heart labors in desperation trying to be patient. We look for clear cut signs that will only announce that God has gone before us and is in the midst of our decisions.
Patience becomes our guiding light to lead us. "Stay the course" becomes our battle cry. When we patiently wait upon the Lord decisions made will eventually reveal His hand print. When God opens the door He will give us the keys to the mansion. We gain unusual blessings by waiting. It takes great courage to wait as we place our soul upon the only true rock. Spiritual renewal becomes a by product and we walk away much stronger and sure of who Christ is and what He can do in our lives. If God has you in a waiting place do it with patience, with courage and in quiet confidence. And then when God shows Himself step out and give all the glory to God.
When we wait upon the Lord
and follow His hand,
when we patiently wait
and follow His command,
then like the pieces of a puzzle
all will be right.
We will not walk i n darkness
but in His guiding light.
