Coincidence Or Godincidence

The way of the Lord is a stronghold to the upright. The righteous will never be shaken. Prov. 10:29-30

I don't believe in coincidence. I believe that everything that happens to me is a God-incidence. Everything is a God created circumstance that gives me the opportunity and the chance to call on Him, acknowledge Him, believe in Him and trust in Him.

I look at these situations as an opportunity to draw nigh, lay beside still waters and dwell upon the Lord.

The question is am I tuned in and dialed up to the Lord? The very fact that Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father watching and waiting for us to take everything to our Lord is enough for me to ask these questions.

During hockey season I had an opportunity to take everything to Him in prayer and supplication. I was at a hockey tournament 200 miles away from home. The frost was on the car as we woke up to go to our last game. I went to unlock the car and the locks were frozen. My son's hockey stick and equipment were all locked up. Rest assured at 8:00 A.M. on a Sunday morning in podunct Minnesota there is no place to go for help.

My son was not to calm about the whole situation. But God provided an opportunity to reveal Himself. I ushered my son into the breakfast hall as I prayed with every step. The look of panic stared back at me from across the table. I said with as much assurance as I could muster that I was going to go try the locks again. And sure enough as if it never happened the locks opened up. God was there that day allowing me to be an example to my son that nothing is beyond His control. We are never beyond His reach and life is a moment by moment adventure when we trust.

In everything in life
I will call on You.
From the big things to the small
I know that You'll come through.

Trusting every moment
that I am alive.
Knowing oh so well
You'll help me to survive.

Walking with conviction
that You're my guiding light.
A heart that's filled with confidence
that You will make things right.
