Only God

Let all bitterness , wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you with all malice. And be kind to one another , tender hearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4: 31-32.

The other day I was on an appointment and we started talking about age. When I mentioned mine he did not believe it. He guessed me to be twelve years younger. Then my friend said what ever you have I want some of it.

I have always been a joyous person. I might be down for a minute or two but certainly not an hour and it has never been the whole day. When we realize the gift that we have in Jesus Christ there is no room for down trodden thinking. When we allow Christ to totally rule us then the enemy can't fool us.

Unconfessed anger wiill eat and chew on the person's persona until satan gains control. Unconfessed hurts if not delivered to the alter will seek and destroy the most joyous heart. Once that hurt gains contol it permeates into thoughts and actions. Cutting words come spewing out unontrollably. Undeniable rage rips any relationship apart. satan knows this and stands at the doorstep of many houses waiting and wanting to get in. I am all too accustomed to these things as I lived it in my own home. As much as I tried to bring it to the surface my ex- wife was in denial.


Far short of giving it up to Christ the relationship that started in abundant love ultimately has that love pushed out the window and it shatters and breaks.Oswald Chambers puts it this way," A wrong temper of the mind will end in the spirit of the devil, no matter how saintly you are. One carnal judgement and the end of it is hell in you. Drag it to the light at once and say'My God I have been guilty there. " If you don't hardness will come all through... No struggling or praying will enable you to do some things, and the penalty of sin is gradually you get used to it and do not know that it is sin. No power save the incoming of the Holy Ghost can alter the inherant consequences of sin... The deadliet pharisism of today is not hypocrisy but unconscious unreality.

Only God can clease us from the inside out. Only God can take the hurts buried deep and erase the pain. Only God can replace it with a joy that absolutely calls others to Himself.


I Heard A Voice

I heard a voice deep in the night
and thought it might be you.
But you had left me by myself
to do what I must do.

Alone I stood all by myself
with anxious lonely heart.
Somehow you knew to leave me there
as I begged you not to part.

"It's time " , you said, for me to find the answers
in my soul.
For I can't do it justice
the hurt has gained contol."

So quietly I waited
until my Savior came.
I said a prayer
then enter in
and wrapped it in your name
