Funeral For The Living

The devising of foolishness is sin. Psalm 24:9

Can we attend the funeral of a friend that is still alive? I believe we can. We see it everyday. People once alive to Christ now dead in Christ. People walking in the Spirit now silenced in the darkness. Choices made that invited the enemy to walk right in sit right down and take over. A world once filled with praise, prayer and fellowship become a memory of which they are choosing to leave behind. Alive on earth but spiritually dead to Christ. All for the short lived self satisfaction of pleasure.

Make no mistake about it. We belong to the enemy and lie in the enemies camp when we choose to let go of God's hand. Notice we are not a puppet on a string that God is going to control. It rests on our shoulders to make Kingdom decisions.

The battle needs to be fought in the interior zone of our soul. Realize that day after day of wrong choices makes the enemies score board lite up with victory. It takes daily moment by moment decisions to obey. When Satan comes with "You deserve this " lines of deception our reaction needs to be 'I will die to self." Unfortunately there is no yellow brick road to follow.

It is not a question of praying your desires away. It is a question of obeying , surrendering and accepting the word as your authority. " The daily grind is where we change from the sinner to the saint. This where we move our natural independence to submission to the Savior. Our decision to present our bodies as a living sacrifice becomes obedience. " Oswald Chambers.

Fail at this and we step across the line. We become captive to satan, captured and separated. Sexual impurity becomes just another choice like what to have for dinner. But when we make the right choice, the spiritual choice we become a vessel that God can use. Realize that with God's imprint comes the responsibility to not dirty the very name of Jesus

As human beings we all have rights. Unless we are willing to release those rights to God we can't fellowship in union with Him. Although we have accepted Him we stand on an island by ourselves. Give Him all ownership and watch the magnificent movement of his Hand. Transfer the deed and let Him own you. Then God can work. His good works will be performed. Around every decision to obey Christ comes the seal of peace and touched by Hi blessed assurance. Stand apart from Kingdom decisions and you will quickly know that you have grieved the Spirit and hurt the Father.


Jesus came to send a message
that we are nothing
without Him.
He is the sword
to fight the fight
and cut through sin.

Yet, we still have the decision
to make the perfect choice.
And yes, God even thought of that
when He gave the Holy Spirit
as our voice.
