How real is Satanic possesion? This is a subject that most Christians don't want to talk about. Just step out your front dood. We see it every day. Or to be perfectly honest we all at some time have been under the influence of Satanic powers.
Just as God can capture our hearts and mind so can Satan. It is easy to look back at my life and say " He was a Christian when he did that?" Satan wants to keep us in bondage and he does it by bringing up the past. Like an Oscar winning movie he marches those images right on thru our mind. Those imges of our failurs become vividly etched in our mind.
Often times it is when we are being used in a mighty way for Christ. We must remember how vital it is for us to keep a clean heart, a clean mind and an open spirit. Satan is waiting to use the smallest of sin to snap us up and carry us off.
In his book, What demons Can Do To saints, Dr Merrill writes, " The demon enters...as a squatter and not as an owner or a guest or as one who has a right there. But he comes in as an intruder, as an invader as an enemy. But come he does if the door is open through serious and protracted sin. "
The good news is we have been purchased by the blood of the Lamb and not even the powers of hell can steal us from the arms of the Father. If Satan is playing these head games resist and run to the Father. How? Confession of the deed. Stop the activity that allows Satan to enter in. Then and only then will you stand clean and you will be committed to Christ .
Wrapped in Satans clutches
I whispered 'Enter In."
With foolish heart
and curious mind
I entered into sin.
Forgetting all the warnings,
Not claiming Jesus Christ.
Rebellion stuck
with each breathe I took
and Satan had my life.
But Jesus had the power
to brake the bondage of sin.
So I set my eyes upon the Son
and went running
home to Him.
And just like nothing happened,
He whispered, " come to me.
The bondage has been broken
and I have come to set you free.
So desperately I cling to thee
each moment of the day.
capturing every word I think
and at Your feet I lay
All the ugliness of life
in every thing I do.
A sinner cleansed once again
all because of You.
