What Are You Thankful For?

"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2

Traditionally, when you ask others what they are thankful for it is not uncommon for them to name blessing such as:

1. My health
2. My family
3. My car

and on and on we go.

As I ask that same question what comes to mind is a God that is faithful. A God that answers prayer. In 05 as my wife had walked out and my life seemed to be falling apart. I went to church and our pastor said "We are heading into a new year. Let's let Jesus be at the center of our lives."

Those haunting words crawled all over me, as I sat in my sprawling 6,000 Sq Ft. home by myself. I argued with God, "Lord, didn't I accept Your Son many years ago.? Haven't I sung on stage in worship and praise? Was it not that I taught the children?" Then God in a very definable manner said, "Yes, my child, that is true but you haven't allowed me to be in the interior corridors of your soul."

Is this possible? Can God permeate inside to the very depths of our being? Can he occupy us? I believe this is possible, but only by the Holy Spirit indwelling in us. Because God forged me, only he can occupy at this level. He waits to be our intimate friend. He wants to communicate with us in the interior zone. He wants to teach me, touch me, move me in the direction He wants me to go.

Softly, the Holy Spirit whispers, "Come now on this journey. Open up to an everlasting all fulfilling love. Come to me. But remember, there shall be no secrets, for I am God."

So there is the challenge. God's challenge to let Him saturate me completely, to look through no other prism except the light that he so richly shines through, and for me to make Him the center of my heart.

At The Center Of My Heart

At the center of my heart
rest the love of Jesus Christ.
A love brought by the Savior
for the rest of my life.

It can change the sinners thoughts.
It can change the sinners ways.
It is at the center of my heart
that Jesus needs to stay.

For Satan is the tempter
and he wants to win the war.
He hates to see us praying
on our knees down on the floor.

Standing in the darkness
he tries to enter in.
Telling us in the quiet
"It's just a little sin."

But the love that's in my heart
was put there by the King.
And it is at the center of my heart
that I will mount up on eagle's wings.
