Yet I hold this against you; you have forsaken your first love. Rev 4:10
Studies show that 85% of all Christians will back slide back into worldly choices. Well all I can say is been there, done that and it ain't pretty. Do you know any body that is there right now? That has apparently let go of His hand. That was on fire so to speak and now is a ugly piece of coal?
We can react in a pious judgemental way or we can stand in the gap and pray. We can hope that being sensitive to their lifestyle will eventually drive them back to the Kingdom. When God got a hold of me I was living with a girl. I did not know the Lord but I remember speaking to a friend and they said they were praying for me all that time behind closed doors. They loved enough to think of me and my situation.
It is our responsibility if our love is genuine to come along side our friends and continue to show them the very compassionate love of Jesus. They need to know that Jesus will always be there for them.
I don't believe that rejecting them at there very time of need is the right way to react. Guilt brought by us isn't going to convict them. Only Christ can change us from the inside out. Our job is to always reflect the cross. Taking their hand and walking to the cross together speaks words to the heart. Rebuilding their faith one block at a time is what works. God is in the reconstruction business every hour of the day.
Standing in the gap
next to my Father.
I will take the time
when others will not bother.
I can not be busy
for those that have lost their way.
I must drop what I are doing
and run to them today
With prayer and meditation
always fighting the fight.
We must search for the cross
and lead them to the light.
