At once they left their nets and followed Him. Mark 1:18
When Simon and Andrew heard Jesus call at once they followed. Instantly, they put down their prized possessions and followed. To a fisherman that prized possession is his boat and his net. They feed his family and are the very reason he rises in the morning. Yet, they simple but down the net and walked away. First came the call and then came the response of obedience.
If you are like me often in my reading words strike me. Ideas come flowing into my mind. Things that God is calling me to do. Often my first reaction to something profound is Amen. But, deep in my morrow down in my soul God is speaking, asking and guiding me to move.
The practice, the reality of our existence is when we rise up and do more for the Kingdom. When God calls move. Get up and get out. The thoughts you have are God's very action plan for that moment. Once we wait the flame becomes a flicker. We forget what it was God was calling us to do.
Don't delay as the enemy waits for that.Break free from the very net satan has you wrapped in. Obey as the Master leads or label it rebellion for shrinking back.
It takes heat to melt the icy heart and action provides the heat. Has God planted a seed, an idea, a thought? At once just do it. God will make the uncomfortable comfortable.
At once they left their nets. At once we can make a phone call to encourage. At once we can put aside our folly and pray. At once we can stick out or neck and meet someone new and deliver the cross.
Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done. All for the glory and honor for the cause of Christ.
I will die to myself
put me to rest.
I will reach for God's glory.
For only His best.
I surrender self will.
The ugly in me.
I'll follow God's path.
Be all I can be.
May only His want
and only His way,
soothe me and soak me
in His plans today.
