My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth Psalm 122:2
With the beginning of Spring and the warmth of the sun I was reminded of my childhood days growing up on one of the largest lakes in Minnesota. As a teenage boy I spent my days chasing cruiser waves with my Boston Whaler. There was something about the sun on my back and water spraying in my face that captured me.
I used to find great thrills nose diving my boat deep into the rolling waves. The challenge was to ride the crest of the wave to the very edge without flipping my boat. I was one of those kids that could care less how cold it was,how late it was or how big the wave. I just wanted to be out there.
One particular stormy day I found myself trapped. The wind had kicked up. The rain was pounding against my face and panic began to set in. My small boat was not big enough to cut through the racious waves that had grown out of control and I was in trouble.Every time I headed for shore my boat was whipped and thrown towards the rocky coastline.
This was before the days of the cell phone. I was unable to call for help. I was scared beyond what my teenage mind could handle and not sure what to do.
At that very moment what I did not know was that my father saw the struggles I was having. He quickly sent my older brother out with our ski boat to cut a wave for me to follow a safe path home. My earthly father was watching over me and he knew just what to do.
And so it is with our all knowing heavenly Father. He knows where we are at all times. We are never beyond His sight and He knows the precise moment to send us His help. Each day, each hour He is with us. He never leaves our side. His loving arms are outstretched to surround us, care for us and protect us.
The rough roads He will make smooth. The high peaks will become low lands. The storms of our summers will be reduced down to bring us showers of calming relief. We are bound to Him with strong cords of love and His eyes are always upon us.
Our sorrows will become a sweet melodious song. Look upon His face and hold fast to the glory you will some day get to experience for the rest of your eternities.
Father,
The storms that come into my life
Are sometimes out of control.
They flip flop my life
And make my head roll.
But You my precious heavenly one
Have eyes that always see.
And in Your amazing magnificent love
You are watching over me.
