Fix Our Eyes On Jesus Heb 12:2
At twenty years old I was called upon to speak at my Grand Father's funeral. Being that I had a long distance relationship with him I really didn't have any assurance that he was saved. So I turned his death into an alter call. I sprinkled my message with Greek and Hebrews and it must have went well because afterwards two middle aged woman came up to me and wanted to know where my church was. When I looked confused they pulled out the church bulletin and showed my name listed as Pastor Brad McGill.
I spent the next thirty years of my life denying the calling. When you think about it we all have a calling. Like the pieces of a giant jigsaw puzzle we are all forged and designed in a specific way to accomplish kingdom results.
With this new year upon us I urge you to consider the very workings of your disposition. Strive to discover God's intent in your uniqueness. You can wander in the dessert for forty years or you can answer the call.
When you do answer you will find deep contentment in knowing your purpose. Your eyes will be fixed on Jesus and your spiritual gift will be the glue that holds you close to Him. A mighty enthusiasm will over take your soul. You will not grow weary because you will be operating under God's power.
The hand that once grasp for earthly pleasures will not rest until you have plowed the field and planted seeds. Your slumber will be sweet and contentment will reign. You will be His agent on earth until you become His angel in heaven. Oh glory be He has taken over me.
Oh glory be
You have taken over me.
Oh Lord my king
You have become my everything.
My soul cries out to know you.
My heart demands the same.
My friend, my love
Sweet Jesus.
It is all because
You came.
