Dead Man Walking

in Christ shall all be made alive 1st Cor. 15:22

I was not raised in a Christian home. I spent a good part of my adolescence " dead man walking." Like most of my friends I was dead to spiritual things and dead to Godly occasions. More than once I slammed the door on God's face when He came with open arms. Althnough I am sure seeds were planted they fell on dry ground. I can think back on occasions where people tried to pry me away from my worldly ways but my soul was dead to anything spiritual.

It was not until my perfect world was not perfect anymore that I began to ache with a request for change. After living with my fiance and experiencing a brutal breakup I began to question where I was headed.

It was then that I started to take the pieces of Christianity that had been planted years ago and I saw them take root. People that had prayed for me for years were greeted by a man that was hungry for Christ.

I was still all of twenty years old and single. On the one hand my non-Christian friends were telling me to go have fun and sow my seeds of single hood. This world view was tempting. On the other hand I was told by a solid Christian man, " If you become sexually active you will build up scar tissue and when real love comes along you won't even recognize it."

In this mixed up messed up world we desperately need good counsel. We need to know the word and speak good counsel to others that have not had an awakening to Christ. The truth is the Non-Christian aches for something more than this world can give. May we be prepared when their soul comes upon us.

Father,
I want to be available
To be used for your perfect plan.
Show me one that is dead to Christ.
I want to meet that man.

May my words be kind and gentle
And cause them to just think.
And may their heart be attuned to Christ
So they can come and drink.
