What Is Your Ulterior Motive?

As I was cooking the turkey today I couldn't help but savor the rich smell that filled the house. Like an orchestra building to the climax the air kept getting thicker with the fondness of how good everything was going to taste.

There is a smell that God looks for in His children. That is the smell of our dying to self and choosing to follow Him on a continual basis. As God searches out hearts He is looking for ourselves to diminish so He can be raised up in our desire to be in fellowship with Him.

If this is not your desire I must ask what is your ulterior motive? Are you here to give something to God or are you here to take as much as your grubby little hands can carry?
Every day we choose to use our spiritual gifts we give to God. Every day we give God our heart we give to Him. All across the nation God is calling those who really want to hear His voice. As you fall once again at the presence of His feet think of His love and cry once more.

Oh Father,
May my heart be clean
May my reasons be clear
Of the very reason
That I am still here.

This gift You have given
Is all for a reason.
My failure to use it
Is like committing treason.

I'm specifically made
by Your glorious hand
To present our sweet Jesus
through out the land.
