Does Jesus Still Reside

Christ as the true bread... Jn. 6:32

I don't know how long it has been since you accepted Christ but for me it has been thirty three years. In that time I have read a lot of books, heard many sermons and met scores of Christians.

But I came to a point in my walk with Christ when Jesus was not residing. The Spirit no longer indwelled in me. It had been silently set aside. There was just a residue of Jesus staring back at me when I looked in the mirror and the reservoir of living water had dried up.

I had all the rituals down of being a Christian but somehow Jesus was not a part of my core being. I was guilty of head knowledge but not heart knowledge.

This stark realization hit me like a ton of bricks, brought me to my knees and raised me up to heaven. Thankfully, God chose to renew my hunger and re-establish our relationship.

And here is what I have discovered. God will provide fresh manna everyday. This manna is invigorating and when you feast on it it is desireable. This freshness is something that only Jesus can provide. This re-birth has re-vitalized every aspect of my life. Jesus now reigns in my inner chambers and i hope He does in yours too.

Does Jesus reside
Down deep in your heart?
Or has your faith dies
And you need a new start?

Has the living water
That you once proclaimed,
Become just a man
And He's now just a name.

Now please don't take this
As a formal indictment.
Just answer the call
And get in on the excitement.
