his burden shall be taken away Is. 10:27
When I was in the midst of some very heavy burdens it was hard to view them as anything but painful. But looking back I know see the completed picture of God's intent.
An African proverb says, " Smooth seas do not make good sailors."
I know it is hard to think of a burden being a blessing but in time that is exactly God's intent. In time God will reveal the why of all of our struggles. If God has had you in the toughest of times there is a specific Christ designed reason for the struggles. I can attest that I have been the closest to Christ in my difficulties.
Rather then saying, " Why Lord why?" I am learning to be thankful at all times. It is moment by moment as I count my blessings.
When we learn to rejoice in our difficulties a clear cut message is sent to a world that is mostly unsaved. God is bigger than our circumstances are words they need to hear. He is greater than any pain we might be called to endure.
Father,
thank You for the tough times
as they bring me to my knee's.
They force me to stop and say
'Please Lord, please."
In the valleys when You carried me
to the mountains way up high,
I now can see the reasons
as they caused me to draw nigh.
