A Mission From God

He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of Jonah you love Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to Him the third time , " Do you love me?" And he said to Him, " Lord, You know all things, You know that I love you." Jesus said to him, feed my sheep..."

I love the old blues brothers movie simply for one line in there. It was, " We are on a mission from God." Certainly Peter knew that feeling. After denying Christ three times can you imagine the feeling of mission for Christ ?

I can relate to that feeling of being called. One morning I was awakened and the very verse given was Feed my sheep along with the words " Brad, you can walk all around the world without even leaving your desk." I had no clue what God meant when those words entered my mind. But, God did. And if you click the map on the site you will see that God is ending this site all around the world.

My guilt, sick feelings of failure for Christ is what launched this site. Knowing full well that I hadn't written anything for Christ for eight years I could not deny the calling any more.

The calling of a Christian is described as Heavenly ( Heb 3:1), Holy( 2Tim. 1:9) Unchangeble ( Rom. 11:29) and given by Grace ( Gal. 1:15). But most important it is According to God's purpose (2 Tim. 1:9).

The end result is fellowship with Christ, peace, and eternal glory.

Rest assured Satan will come to knock you off your game. I have had a ton of setbacks including two computers crashing within a week. I had entered into a long distance relationship with a fine Christian woman midway through the journey but I had to say the hard words as she was pulling me away from my mission.

So what about you? Is there anything that you feel called to do. Is there a mission from God that you should or could be on? Does something out there have just your name on it. Are you willing to listen to what ever the Holy Spirit might be leading you up to?

All I can say is be open. When I had a woman tell me from DivoceCare, " Brad, I see a book." I hung up the phone and said, " I don't see a book. All I see is five notebooks filled with poems." Today, she is awaiting my book to be published so she can list it for sale.

Feed my sheep
this is God's desire.
To defeat the enemy
we must be on fire.

Just look around
there is someone
that needs your touch.

Just a smile
or
a helping hand
can mean so much.

Let's not get
so busy
that we don't
take the time

There is no extra effort
in a heart
that is kind.
