Go Down Deep

yea, the deep things of God. 1st.Cor.2:10

Years ago on a much needed trip to Hawaii I had the opportunity to dive in a real submarine. Tucked deep underneath the surface was a whole new world. The deep blue of the water reflected off the submarine as we dove down to 150 Feet. Deep into the water were schools of vibrant colored fish putting on a show.

Above the waters edge you would never know the beauty that lived underneath the surface. The silence was deafening as the ocean did not rumble and roar but seemed to slumber. I could see how one could get lost for days in complete exploration of this whole new world.

To be a good explorer one has to have the mind of wonder and the desire to saturate the heart. When we explore God and all of His intricacies it becomes as vast as the ocean floor and as dazzling as the moonlit skies.

It is in the deep thoughts with Christ that He can break the strongholds and destroy our stubborn attitudes. It is in the deep that our purpose is revealed, captured and committed to Christ.

For God to do His best work in us we have to reach beyond the surface and seek to understand His word. For it is deep into our soul that He carves His name and reveals Himself to us. So it is that when absolute whole hearted belief defeats any thread of doubt it most surely is in the deep. This is where our loving relationship with our all loving Father begins.

Deep within the bowels
and way beyond the surface
I will listen to the whisper
and understand His purpose.

For as a Father loves his child
and wants to know him well,
there are secrets way down deep
that He is waiting to tell.

So I run to thee so willingly
and anxiously await
the message hidden way down deep
at the edge of Heaven's gate.
