Brethren, my heart"s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. Romans 10:1
Back in the 80's there was a popular book with the message of evangelism. The title was Lifestyle Evangelism. The premise was instead of being caught up in our own little world of Christians we need to get our head out of church and our heart into our neighborhood.
Our neighborhood consisted of literally our neighbor around the corner and people at work. I still whisper a phrase out of that book to myself and that is " People don'tcare how much you know until they know how much you care."
It went on to say get to know what your neighbor is into and then you will have a better opportunity to be in their lives and present Christ. If they ride Harley's then roll yours out of the garage and let that be the beginning of a friendship.
I have had some changes in my method of doing business. I now am in an office with one other rep and a secretary. To my knowledge neither of them are Christians. But my passion is like Paul's in that they would be saved.
I shared this website and according to the secretary I am religious. I let that one pass as I didn't want to jump on the difference too soon. Today Andre, the other rep got a call and had to leave the office to round up his robust 4 year old that was rambunctious at day care.
Business has been slow for both of us but especially for Andre. Now he would not be in the office and would miss an opportunity for any business. With a prompting of the Holy Spirit I felt led to try and help him. So I decided that I would take all the calls and give him any leads that came from it.
When I presented this idea to Barb I could tell she was surprised. In fact her words convinced me I was doing the right thing and planting seeds for Christ. She said " Nobody I know would do this ." In a world that is cut throat and self centered it is great to stand out from the crowd.
It takes the spirit of God to draw people to Christ. But it is through a foundation built on Christ that they will see the difference. We can stand out in this lost empty world. We can have the privilege to be used for Christ. We can, we shall and we must show them Jesus.
To have the heart of evangelism
we must always have a desire
to present the gospel in such a fashion
that we will never grow tired.
When our world is all about Christ
and He is all that we see,
then with prayer
our friends will see eventually see Him
and in time hopefully agree.
