Lifes Irratations

What do you do when you come upon lifes irratations? What do you do when situations arise that bring you to your knes? Do you "Why me Lord" until you have lost your breath? Do you whine your way right to the pillow?

For the last couple of days I have been battling car trouble. Just another one of those irratations in life. With my car overheating I have spent a lot of anxious moments at the side of the road. While waiting for my car to cool down it gave me an opportunity to think and pray.

I replaced a hose and that didn't do it. I redlined all the way home and faced the consequences that I might have blown a head gasket. As I called a freind that has worked minor miracles before he said I should park the car and get it fixed.

But I had appointments to get to so off I went again. Once again I called my friend as I waited for the car to cool and he said I should beeline home. My response was that " I operate on prayer."

I piled back into my car and 2.4 miles later it was redlining again. I looked for a gas statiuon and saw the familiar Super America station. I figured at least I could grab some grub while I waited. But God had another plan. One of the busiest stations around was closed for remodeling.

As I looked across the street I saw a small repair shop and figured that must be where the man with the magic hands was going to fix my car. Sure enough, six dollars later I was back on ther road and my car has been running perfect ever since.

I am of the belief that when we give satan a chance to enter our world by doubting our most powerful Father that he seizes the opportunity. In fact he waits for that specific moment to gain a foothold. But, a verbal, active, open proclamation to anyone and everyoner that God is in control and working for our good allows God to be raised to the occasion. So when life throws you a curve hit it like a fastball.

When knocked to the floor
with lifes ugly situations
I'll raise my voice to Heaven
and state my proclamation.

As Satan comes to tempt me
and steal away my joy
I'll proclaim the name of Jesus
and not be Satan's toy.
