Set Free

And they brought him hastily out of the dungeon. Gen. 41;14

The stories seem to be all over these days. Stories of a prisoner living behind bars for years for a crime they did not commit. Implicated by reason, doubt or fear they spent years locked up. Then by the arms of justice they walk out of jail. They walk out of the dungeon.

Can you imagine that first taste of freedom. That first echo of reality that they have been pardoned? As Christians we have been touched by those same emotions. We are set free from the bondage of sin. The master of deception no longer is in control of our hearts. We are free from fear. Set free from hopelessness, doubt or worry.

Sometimes I forget all You have done for me.
I live in my own little world forgetting I am set free.

But I have chosen freedom
I have chosen Jesus Christ.

May I always remember that gift of freedom
and how it has changed my life.
