In The Shadows

But stand thou still awhile 1st Samuel 9:27

Sometimes when we are at our best we are at our worst. Sometimes we become so good at hiding our hurts, burying our feelings and denying our sins. During these times we tell ourselves all is well when in reality we are dying on the inside. We put our running shoes on and we are afraid. Afraid to try again because love hurt too much the last time it failed. Afraid to believe that God could possibly have one out there that fits us like no other.

Behind the scenes God knows how you feel. In the shadows God knows the truth. In the quiet He knows your restlessness. It is in the stillness where He changes our heart of stone. It is in the quiet that He knocks down the walls. It is in this stillness where He finds us. In these precious moments we will hear the command of His voice. Yet, how many times do we run to the e-mail or the instant messenges to fill the void? We have to remember that in this quiet stillness is where He will change our character and strengthen our beliefs. Fear takes flight if we will stand in the stillness, take His hand and listen for His voice.

When we are lonely we need Christ.
When we are empty He needs to be our life.

Run to Him in the stillness.
Admit to Him all your fears.
He will catch every heartache
and wipe away all your tears.
