Living In Prison

Finally, be ye all of one mind.1Peter 3:8

Years ago when my brother was cought up in alcohol addiction he made some wrong decisions and ended up in prison. It was the clanging of the huge steel door that got me. It sent a message that there was no escape, no chance, no choice but to obey. It gave me a helpless, hopeless trapped feeling.

Those without Christ live in prison everyday day of their lives. The dark stench of their hopeles lives invades their very presence. Each step they take, each breathe they draw means nothing for their very purpose is themselves. Self-centered and sef interests become just a earthly pursuit with no heavenly possibilities. We were made with a higher calling and greater vision than self.

As a Christian the why of our lives is Jesus Christ. The message of the gospel is not something for us to accept and claim, " I am finished. I am in." It is a new birth, a new song that must be sung. A message meant to be sent and shared for those living in the prison of life without Christ.

Each part in a play are perfectly written for each actor. What part are you playing? Ask these deeper questions and you are one step away from your Christ given purpose. Pursue it and God will bring you to it. Reach not for self desires but for what Christ aspires.

I was locked in a dungeon
but then set free.
The clanging of the steel door
now behind me.

The message of the gospel
now within my heart.
God so willing to give a new start.

And now I look for others
that need to understand
that Jesus was the chosen
and not just another man.
