The other day I caught myself singing the old Olivia Newton John song. I could not get it out of my head. I just kept belting out "Hopelessly Devoted To You." I only know those four words but to our Father that is enough.
In our relationship with Christ that fits. Oh, to be hopelessly devoted. To have that same hunger, that same thirst to love Christ and follow Christ just like the very first moment we called out His name. Hopelessly devoted to reach for Him, follow Him and serve Him.
Devotion means to have a deep committed attitude towards Him. We are to know Him so well that we can feel the presence of the Holy Spirit. It is the only time that I can think of that lust would be acceptible.
How do we have this hopeless devoted love? We are called to do it with our whole selves. From giving our wealth to our time and talents. Why? Because of God's goodness, Christ's death and our redemption. And because He alone is worthy.
Come with me on a journey
we will travel everyday.
Exploring, reaching and touching
only what God has to say.
Committing our lives to the scriptures.
Devoted to Christ the Son,
Dedicating ourselves to the Kingdom
for the battle is already won.
For He alone is worthy.
May I be devoted to the cause.
And when He shows me what to do
may I do it withoot pause.
