Broken Bread and Pored Out Wine

And when He comes He will convict the world of sin. John 16:8

Have you ever had the correction of sin? Have you ever been thrown against the wall in a crumpled heap? That is the way correction came to me. Oswald Chambers puts it this way. " very few of us know anything about conviction of sin. We know the experience of being disturbed because we have done wrong things, but conviction of sin blocks out every relationship on earth and leaves one relationship only. Against thee, thee only have I sinned. The miracle of redemption is that God turns me ,the unholy into the standard of Himself, the Holy One, putting into me a new disposition, the disposition of Jesus Christ."

What I am discovering is it is a humbling experience. I am no longer the man that wants to be identified as the one with the big house to feed my ego. God had to strip me of all of my material bondage to set me free and make the man that He could use for the cause of Christ. The financial planner had to be bankrupt. The man that made more money than 98% of the population had to be reduced down to giving plasma to feed his boys. He had to ask more than once for the church and friends to carry him through. Humbled to the point of brokeness. Emptied out for the cause of Christ.

All for God to come along and rebuild the one who rebelled. I had a hole in my heart.. A
hole that could only be filled with the love of Christ. I now know that I have a radical and compelling vision of what it means to be filled to the absolute core with Jesus Christ.

I now hear the whisper of the Holy Spirit. It comes with a request to completely accept God in a trusting way. It is a gentle reminder that only God can be in control. Only God is what I need. You will be overwhelmed by the softness, quietness and stillness. It is evidence of God's depth of love for us. Let it work it's way through you, completely engulfing you. It is a complete love with an illumination to Christ Himself. Given to correct and guide us in this journey we call life. Surrendering to it means we are one step away from embracing God.

God is enough. I now find more joy sitting silently still and letting God speak through me from His word than anything else I can possibly imagine. I want to retain my broken spirit, my repentive heart because God is enough. He is my focus.

With Arms Around Jesus

All kinds of emotions are raging inside.

Forgiveness was something
I never thought I was owed.
But Jesus came to me

He's given me a reason to start life again.

Just teach me thy statutes
eliminate my grief.

will be my relief.
The law of thy word
is better to me
than silver and gold.
help me always to see.
